The Flame of the Forest (Delonix Regia) was chosen as the official flower of the Sepang Municipal Council and this was officiated by HRH Tengku Idris Shah Ibni Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj; the Regent of the state of Selangor on 16 September 1999.
